Everett Catts is a veteran journalist with over 23 years of experience. He has worked as a sports writer, sports editor and news editor for several newspapers/news websites. He has won over a dozen awards for his articles, through the Georgia Sports Writers Association and Georgia Press Association. He currently is news editor of the Neighbor Newspapers’ Northside bureau, which covers mainly Buckhead and Sandy Springs but also midtown and downtown Atlanta and some other suburbs.
The company is based in Marietta at the Marietta Daily Journal’s office.
The company’s website has 1.5 million page views per month. That includes the Marietta Daily Journal, Cherokee Tribune, the Cherokee Ledger, the Rome-area papers, including the Rome News-Tribune, and all of the Neighbor Newspapers, which are in the following counties: Bartow, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton and Paulding.
The company’s overall print circulation is about 350,000.
The Northside and Sandy Springs Neighbor papers’ circulation is about 30,000 and is delivered to single-family homes by mail (inside I-285) and by carrier (outside the Perimeter).
Around the beginning of March, the company started producing the newspapers printed by Southern Community Newspapers Inc., which includes the Gwinnett Daily Post, the Albany Herald and several other papers in metro Atlanta, by moving its copy desk staff to the Marietta office.
The company has some other plans mainly tied to its website, but those have not been formally announced yet.
