Cameron Turner applies her diverse leadership and fundraising experience as the Director of Institutional Giving for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Driven by her passion to serve the impoverished in Atlanta, Ms. Turner oversees corporate and foundation relations along with special events and, with her team, is responsible for raising over $8.4 million in funding each year to address the needs of the hungry and homeless across North Georgia. Before joining the Food Bank, she served as the Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations for the Atlanta Mission and as a Development Officer for the Devereux Georgia Treatment Network.

Over the last 15 years, Ms. Turner has dedicated her life and career to those in need throughout Atlanta and North Georgia. Her vast experience in the non-profit sector has made her an expert in donor relations. This includes corporate partnerships, foundation relations, major donor solicitation, volunteer management, and special event execution.

After a life-time career in newspaper journalism, and with no intention to ever “retire,” John Schaffner in 2011 launched BuckheadView, an online news site covering news of interest and importance to residents of Atlanta’s Buckhead community.

Schaffner began his professional journalism career in the early ’60s, when he joined the St. Petersburg Times fresh from Florida State University. In the years that followed, he moved from there to The Palm Beach Post and then to The Philadelphia Inquirer prior to joining The Atlanta Constitution as Managing Editor in 1977.

From 1982-2001 Schaffner was a public relations/marketing professional in the Atlanta market, all but 5 of those years as head of his own agency, Corporate Image Group, Inc.

Schaffner moved into community journalism in 2001 as the founding editor of The Story group of 5 weekly newspapers. In 2006, he became the founding editor of The Reporter Newspapers’ 4 bi-weekly newspapers. He founded BuckheadView.com online news service in April 2011 at the age of 70.

Since moving into Atlanta community journalism 15 years ago, Schaffner has attended nearly every major community meeting and event in the areas he has covered.

Joanne Hayes is a 20-year veteran of the publishing industry, having worked as an Account Executive for an award-winning Journal Register Company newspaper group, Southern Rhode Island Newspapers, and as the Marketing Director of SO Rhode Island, a publication of the award-winning magazine company Providence Media.
Simply Buckhead Magazine was conceived and began publication in 2010, with Joanne at the helm as Publisher and Founder. She also currently serves as the Co-VP of Programs on the Board of Directors of the Buckhead Business Association, and a Member of the newly-formed Diversity and Inclusion Council of the Atlanta Hawks organization.
Joanne and her team launched a second publication this year, 17th South, covering Midtown and surrounding communities.
